Authorship Criteria
The Journal of Maternal and Child Health (JMCH) follows internationally recognized standards of authorship to ensure that authorship reflects genuine scholarly contributions and accountability.
To qualify for authorship, individuals must meet all four of the following criteria:
- Substantial Contribution: Make substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Drafting and Critical Revision: Participate in drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
- Final Approval: Approve the final version of the manuscript to be published.
- Accountability: Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work and ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All individuals designated as authors must meet all four criteria. Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their permission.
The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating communication with the journal and ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript and agreed to the author list and order.
Any changes to authorship, including the addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission, must be justified and approved by all authors concerned and the journal's editor before the changes are made.
JMCH does not permit guest authorship, gift authorship, or ghost authorship. All authors must disclose their individual contributions and any relevant conflicts of interest in accordance with the journal's policies.
